How to Reset a User Password in Salesforce

In Salesforce, resetting a user password is simple.


Please note: You need 1 of the following permissions to do this:

Reset User Passwords and Unlock Users

OR

Permission to edit the user via the user interface or the API

 

1. On the Home page, click the Gear on the top right of your screen. Click Setup.

2. On the left side, you will see the Quick View Bar.


3. Scroll down to Users and click the drop down, then select Users. You can also type in the word Users in the search bar and this will get you there faster.

4. From this screen, you will see all of the users within your organization. Check off the user(s) you would like to reset the password for. Click Reset Password at the bottom.

5. The user(s) will then receive an email. Please note that the email link expires within 24 hours.

6. The user(s) will then click the link and reset their password.
